I prefer simple designs that do not depend only on heavy filters in the pictures. That is why I sometimes leave comments myself when I test a new shop or product. I like when a shop clearly shows PD, lens height and bridge width in millimeters. It is always difficult to know which website is really trustworthy before you place an order. 

If anyone is interested in real user experiences, I sometimes write short notes about the shops I test.

Now I try to read as many real user reviews as possible before I buy anything. I enjoy reading threads where people honestly share what worked and what failed for them. Of course we all have different taste, but patterns still appear in long discussions. Sometimes customer service can fix a bad experience, but not always.

Nobody wants pretty shoes that hurt after ten minutes of walking. I try to look for real photos of the insoles and soles, not only the outside of the shoe. Some charts are very generic and do not match real measurements at all.

When I test a new shop I usually start with one or two items instead of a huge order. Good packaging and a small storage bag are also nice touches for accessories. Of course shipping delays can happen, but good communication reduces stress. Many people do not mind waiting if they understand what is going on. In the end there is no perfect shop, but some stores are clearly more consistent. A simple pair of glasses or a basic jacket that always works is worth a lot.
